We are very excited to have a beautiful collection of jewelry in by local artisan Blossom Boutique! Essential Goods carries a variety of Blossom Boutique's beautiful necklaces and earrings handcrafted out of glass beads, stones, crystals, porcelain, fabric, wool and silk. Proprietor Timea Talata-Spreitzer has been creating jewelry since the age of five. Her grandfather was a wood sculptor and they would create jewelry in his shop together. She proudly wore her creations and gave them to her friends. Originally from Hungary, Timea and her family have lived in Lawrence for five years. She is inspired by nature, the flowers and her children, all of which inspire her with great ideas. Check out a sampling of Timea's beautiful creations below, as well as in her Etsy shop!

Opening reception Final Friday May 31st | 5 to 9 PM
Please join us for the opening reception for Matt Woodard on Friday, May 31st from 5 to 9 pm for Final Fridays in Downtown Lawrence. Essential Goods will be participating with their next door neighbor, Blue Dot Salon, for Final Fridays this month and will have live music by DJ on.it (Sean Foust), so it will be a great evening!
About The Artist:
Matt is a local artist who was born, raised, lives and works in Lawrence. His art has been in hiding for some time, finally begging and pleading its way out of the cellar and onto the open wall spaces of Essential Goods. The bold lines and bright colors will grab your attention and the images run a full range of human emotion. They are mental snapshots from daily life now committed to canvas. The works for the show will all be originals. Thankfully, the old will be accompanied by new works and they won’t break the bank. They are reasonably priced to allow and encourage those who normally can’t afford the larger works to take one home with them... hopefully spreading the good word and these unique pieces around the area for more to see and enjoy. Out with the old/in with the new.
We hope to see you next Friday!

We were thrilled to add the beautiful work of local artist Biz Tulipa to Essential Goods! Proprietor Youngha Oh is a master at creating gorgeous, intricately beaded earrings, bracelets, necklaces and rings. She uses a variety of fresh water pearls, glass beads and semi precious stones to create each piece of jewelry, some of which can take up to 40 hours to craft. Youngha moved to Lawrence eleven years ago from Korea to study at KU. She married a Lawrence native and decided to stay in Lawrence! She started making jewelry as a hobby about seven years ago and has been selling her work for the past six years at art shows such as LOLA, Art in the Park and Bizarre Bazaar. Below is a sampling of Biz Tulipa's work that you can find at Essential Goods.
